A top official has told only SCORENigeria that one of the Super Eagles stars was very unprofessional in training camp for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Benin as he tried to hide the injury he came with.
The furious official further informed SCORENigeria that the player in question plays in one Europe’s major leagues and featured prominently at the last AFCON.
“He did not disclose he was injured and it was only when he got into camp that it was discovered,” the angry official lamented.
“That was very unprofessional of him and to think that he plays in one of the major leagues in Europe makes it even much more unacceptable.”
The top star did not see a minute of action in both qualifiers on account of the injury, it was further learnt.
The official further gave the example of Kenneth Omeruo, who called coach Finidi George to tell him not to name him in his squad because he is injured and will not give 100% in those crucial qualifiers.
“Omeruo, on the contrary, was injured and he called the coach to leave him out because he won’t give his best,” the official revealed.
“These boys ought to be a lot more disciplined and professional when it comes to the national team.”
