It was a fantastic start to life at the famous Red Star Belgrade for Ibadan-born winger Peter Olayinka following an eventful time at Czech champions Slavia Praha as he greatly impressed and led his side to completing the Serbian league and cup double.

Olayinka was a mainstay for the Serbian giants as he clocked 2534 minutes in the Super Liga and was involved in 43 of 48 matches, missing only one league match due to injury.
In the entire 2023/2024 season, Olayinka had 15 goal contributions, comprising 11 goals and four assists with an Expected goals (XG) of 8.92.
Primarily a winger, he completed 52 out of 86 dribbles, with a success rate of 59% and being dispossessed 40 times while being flagged offside only six times.
Olayinka took 48 shots in total, had 24 on target while the remaining half were off target.
He hit the woodwork three times and had a shot accuracy of 50% and an average of six shots per goal.
These encouraging statistics led Olayinka and Red Star to clinch the domestic double in Serbia after winning the Serbia Super Liga and the Super Cup.
Interestingly, these stats could not earn him a recall to the Super Eagles set up since he made his debut under Gernot Rohr in 2019.
He last featured for the country at the delayed 2021 AFCON two years ago in Cameroon.
