The Golden Eaglets are cruising in their final Group B match of WAFU B U17 AFCON qualifying match against Togo as they lead 2-0.
Striker Abdulmuiz Adeleke opened scoring after just nine minutes when he went clear on goal from the left flank before he let fly a left-footed strike beyond the onrushing goalkeeper.
Rapha Adams netted his second goal of the competition with a diving header off a superb assist by skipper Simon Cletus.
The lively Adeleke must also take credit for this goal as he held off his marker by the edge of the box before he located Cletus to deliver the cross.
Togo occasionally threatened the Nigerian goal but they tried to keep out the rampant Nigerian attack by playing the offside trap.
In the other match in Group B also being played at the same time, Burkina Faso lead Niger 1-0.
This means both Nigeria and Burkina Faso are tied on same points as well as goals difference.
If the results of the two matches do not change, Burkina Faso could sneak as group winners on disciplinary grounds and so avoid hosts Ghana in Saturday’s semifinal.
