Staff of the accounts department of the NFF as well as an employee of external auditors Pricewater House Coopers have allegedly questioned how anti-graft agency ICPC are handling investigations into the football federation, describing it as “unprofessional”.
This complaint followed an order by ICPC for the NFF to print out all their bank statements and forward to the anti-corruption agency.
A source informed SCORENigeria: “A deputy director in the accounts department argued that if ICPC really know what they are doing, they ought to have all the information and documentations they are now asking them to provide.
“’What they know how to do is to make noise in the media’, the official further slammed.”
The NFF auditors PWC have also been ordered to provide their management letters to the NFF, which will contain the audit opinion, over the time they have been auditing their books.
The senate has also requested the accounts department to furnish it with all the NFF financial receivables, which will include grants from FIFA and CAF as well as sponsorship monies.
In the meantime, top management staff of the NFF have appeared before the ICPC as a massive probe of the football federation has continued to gather steam.
