The Three Lions of England have made a big, bold move to beat the Super Eagles to Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori as they are expected later today to name the Chelsea pair for a 2020 Euro qualifiers against group rivals Czech Republic and Bulgaria.
According to various media reports, England boss Gareth Southgate will name both players on his squad for the qualifier fixed for October 11 (vs Czech Republic) and October 14 (vs Bulgaria).
Should the players go on to play in any of these official games for England, they will no longer be eligible to play for Nigeria.
Both Abraham and Tomori, who have already represented England at age-grade levels, have been on top form for Chelsea this season.
Nigeria officials have tried to convince Abraham to play for Nigeria, where his father hails from.
Tomori, who was born in Canada, has reportedly agreed to play for Nigeria before now.
