Roda JC have debts of nearly £1 million and it has emerged that the Dutch second division team have been using the £38,000 Chelsea send each month to cover the 90% of Ugbo’s wages to pay the rest of their players.
Chelsea have now launched a probe into the matter after it emerged that young striker Ike Ugbo has not been paid by Dutch side Roda Kerkrade – with the cash used to pay the rest of the hard-up Dutch club’s players.
Stamford Bridge youngster Ugbo, 21, is on loan at Dutch second division outfit Roda and has scored four goals in seven games.
Ugbo reportedly earns about ten times as much as most of the rest of the squad at Roda, who were relegated last season – but the Chelsea youngster has apparently not been paid last month.
