Amid the celebration of a historic win over AFCON hosts Cote d’Ivoire, the Super Eagles are yet to receive any cash since training camp in Dubai, SCORENigeria has gathered.
The grumbling is muted as the players remain focused on doing Nigeria proud.
A top official admitted the Super Eagles have not received camp allowances and bonuses right from the pre-tournament camp in Dubai
The players have also not received camp allowances and bonuses in Abidjan.
Camp allowance is $200 a day per player, while a win bonus is $5,000.
SCORENigeria further gathered that the delay in the payments is caused by the country’s Central Bank.
At the last AFCON in Cameroon, the team were paid their camp allowances in cash during the tournament, while they received their bonuses after the competition.
Besides the payments for the 2023 AFCON, the Super Eagles are owed bonuses and allowances running over 26 matches since 2021.
President Bola Tinubu has approved 12 Billion Naira for these outstanding monies to be settled, but the players have yet to receive this cash as well.
