Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has given a further insight to how he plans to play some of his players at the 2023 AFCON in Cote d’Ivoire.
Peseiro said in an interview with NFF TV that he has listed Ademola Lookman as a winger even though the Atalanta star is often used by his club as a second striker, while the versatile Chiedozie Awaziem has been listed among the five central defenders to the AFCON.
The other central defenders are William Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo, Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi.
Fulham ace Alex Iwobi will be deployed in midfield and not on the wings going by Peseiro’s explanation.
Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho was also considered by Peseiro as a striker alongside Victor Osimhen, Victor Boniface and Sadiq Umar.
