Cardiff City loanee Sheyi Ojo has declared he wishes to play a much bigger role at Belgian club KV Kortrijk.
Struggling KV Kortrijk recorded a stunning home win over Club Brugge last week and today face another top club, Genk, as they fight to move away from relegation troubles.
Former Liverpool player Ojo said he wants to make his mark in Belgium.
“It is only my second time playing football outside the United Kingdom,” Ojo told Het Nieuwsblad.
“The first time was in France at Stade Reims. If I’m honest, it was very difficult for me. I didn’t know the language, but little by little I learned French. That’s a huge advantage now.
“I feel like I’m in Kortrijk I still need some time to fully blossom, but the coach’s confidence is really good.”
Coach Glen De Boeck has been drafted to save KV Kortrijk and Ojo said both he and the coach have a point to prove.
“The new coach still has to make his mark, just like me,” he said.
“I like it at Kortrijk, but I feel that I still have to be more decisive. When will that happen? I really hope quickly. I’m doing everything I can, but things aren’t going well for me yet.”
