Gift Orban may have gone through some rough patch this season, but his coach at Gent has backed the striker to surpass last season’s tally.
The striker was sensational last season with 21 goals in all competitions on arrival from Norway in January.
However, it has been a little tough going for him and this has not been made any easier by an injury he suffered in the Super Eagles training camp recently.
He may also have been affected by transfer speculations this summer.
However, Gent coach Hein Vanzebrouck has said Gift Orban will come good again in front of goal this season.
“We knew that it would not be a hit every week. Last season Gift Orban also had a bad moment, it is logical that not every ball would go in,” he reasoned.
“I still don’t rule out that he will score 25 this season. The same for (Hugo) Cuypers, he also has those qualities. One day they might shoot three more in a match.”
