One of the Premier League contenders Arsenal start their quest for the title against Nottingham Forest at the Emirates. These two teams will meet on Saturday. And here’s what our best football tipsters can tell you about it.
Arsenal were close to winning the Prem last season, but they were stopped in the last few rounds. Now Mikel Arteta’s team is more experienced and maybe readier to make a fresh challenge. On the transfer market Arsenal reinforced the midfield with West Ham’s Declan Rice while Ajax’s talented defender Jurien Timber can make an impact. At the same time Chelsea’s German striker Kai Havertz will have the task to be a leader in the attack.
Arsenal already won their first trophy for the season. Arteta’s boys faced Manchester City for the Community Shield and celebrated a win after penalties. City were close to winning this one, but Leandro Trossard equalised in the last minute of the game. During the penalties the Gunners did much better.
Nottingham Forest survived their first season in the Premier League, but now the former European kings have an even more difficult task – to do it again. Steve Cooper continues to manage the team as he’s doing it since 2021. So far the Welsh coach is doing well.
On the market Forest made two impactful moves as they signed Manchester United’s Anthony Elanga and Newcastle’s Chris Wood. These two strikers will have to boost Forest’s attacking potential. At the same time Nottingham also signed Arsenal’s goalkeeper Matt Turner and Torino’s right-back Ola Aina. The club said goodbye to the striker Sam Surridge who chose to move to Nashville in the American MLS. Cafu, Jack Colback and Jordan Smith also left.
