Queen of the South have said they are excited former Super Eagles defender Efe Ambrose will bring much-needed experience to their young team.
Ambrose, 34, signed a contract with his latest Scottish club till the end of the year as a free agent.
The defender, a Nigeria international for many years, moved to Scotland in 2012 and spent five years at Celtic. He has also played for Hibernian, Livingston and Morton.
“With the injuries and suspensions we have just now we needed to add to the squad and I’m grateful Efe has joined on a short deal,” said coach Marvin Bartley of the third-tier league club.
“He is someone I have known for a long time so I know what he brings and what we will get. We have a lot of talented young players, but we are currently short of senior heads. Efe will give us that experience. He is also a great character to have around the dressing room.”
“I’m happy to be joining Marvin (Bartley) at Queens and to get back amongst a squad. When I got the call, I jumped at the chance to sign,” said Ambrose, who has been handed jersey No 24.
