One of the major problems of the Super Eagles has been in the midfield, where lack of creativity and class has left the coach with very limited options.
Here are the top bets who can bring new life and jest into the Super Eagles midfield going forward –
5. Afeez Aremu
He was great at Norwegian club IK Start before he moved to the German Bundesliga 2 club St.Pauli in the 2020/2021 season where he has been consistent in his performances. He keeps it simple and tight as a defensive midfielder.
4. Ifeanyi Matthew
The FC Zurich midfielder has always had the class and guile desperately needed in Eagles, but he has been overlooked since his time with the Flying Eagles and CHAN Eagles. He was at Lillestrom for four years before he moved to FC Zurich, Switzerland, in February and has continued to turn heads.

3. Obinna Nwobodo
The 26-year-old FC Cincinnati midfielder can be a good option in the defensive midfield role of Ndidi is out. He also plays as a central midfielder. He was a delight to watch at Turkish club Gotzepe before he moved to MLS side FC Cincinnati where he has been a regular player to justify his $1 Million-plus salary. He will most certainly improve the Eagles engine room.
2.Raphael Onyedika
The big midfielder was an important player for Belgian side Club Brugge at the beginning of the season after great performances in the heart of Danish club FC Midtjylland midfield for two seasons. He will bring the creativity and drive needed in the midfield of the Eagles.

1.AlHassan Yusuf
The remains a big mystery why this double champion with Antwerp in Belgium has yet to be capped by the Super Eagles despite outstanding contributions for his club. He first showed that consistently for four years at Swedish club IFK Goteborg before he moved to Belgium, where he is the midfield marshal for the past two seasons. His non-stopping running, energy and creativity are what the Super Eagles badly need in that midfield that will be without Wilfred Ndidi for some time to come.
