Gift Orban posted a spectacular debut with two goals for Gent to draw at Westerlo with his coach saying if he keeps up such form, no one will complain how much he cost the Belgian club.
Orban reportedly cost Gent 3.5 Million Euros on transfer deadline Day from Norwegian club Stabaek.
Gent coach Hein Vanhaezebrouck has now said his big price tag will not be an issue as long as he continues to fire in the goals.
“We had seen qualities in him that we did not yet have in our team, so we got him, but also for a few cents. (+- 3.5 million euros) But if he continues like this, no one will complain about those pennies”, the coach concluded with a smile.
Before his eye-catching debut, Orban only trained thrice with his new club.
He said he spoke to his new teammates about what he is like as a player and that helped for him to post a Man-of-the-Match display.
“With every team I come to, I talk to the other players to discuss my qualities. We haven’t trained much yet, but I have already talked to the captain (Sven Kums),” the explosive striker revealed.
