Were it left only to FC Lorient, Terem Moffi would have been featuring for either West Ham or Olympique Marseille, according to the president of the Ligue 1 club.
FC Lorient president Loïc Féry told L’Equipe his club agreed a deal with West Ham over the transfer of Super Eagles striker Moffi.
The Ligue 1 club could also have sold Moffi to local rivals Olympique Marseille.
Féry revealed that Lorient accepted two offers for Moffi before he signed for Nice, one from Marseille, the other from Premier League 16-placed outfit West Ham.
The Lorient president was critical of OGC Nice for how they won the race for the 23-year-old striker.
“I think they have to operate differently because, if they are as ambitious as they say, they can’t destabilise all the clubs. There was a lack of regard,” he accused them.
