Coach Ladan Bosso is upbeat the Flying Eagles will qualify for this year’s U20 FIFA World Cup just as he has praised the NFF for the total support he has enjoyed leading up to next month’s U20 AFCON in Egypt.
In May 2022, the Flying Eagles barely had two weeks to prepare for the U20 AFCON qualifiers in May, but against all odds they topped the tournament to book their place at the U20 AFCON in Egypt.
“We have had enough time to prepare this team,” a confident Bosso told SCORENigeria
“The team has taken shape and the No 1 target remains to qualify for the U20 World Cup.”
The Flying Eagles will take on their Zambian counterparts, who have also qualified for the U20 AFCON, in two warm-up games in Abuja later this month.
The team will then embark on a training tour of Morocco from where they will proceed to Egypt for the U20 AFCON.
The purposefulness of the team in test games has further given Bosso great satisfaction.
“They have played these matches against whatever team as if their lives depend on it,” he told SCORENigeria
“They know what is ahead of us.”
At the U20 AFCON, Nigeria are drawn in Group A along with hosts Egypt, Senegal and Mozambique, and Bosso revealed his support staff have gathered valuable information on the opposition, just as they did for the qualifiers in Niger Republic.
