Pocket-sized battleship Jude Sunday has again showed why he will be one of the Flying Eagles stars to watch at next month’s U20 AFCON after a superb display in a 5-0 mauling of Barau Academy today.
The tricky left winger from Real Sapphire of Lagos did not score on the day to add to the two goals he has since the team resumed training camp in the New Year in Abuja ahead of the U20 AFCON.
But he got everyone talking with his mesmerising footwork on both flanks reminiscent of the great Lionel Messi.
A top NFF official even took a photo of the wing wizard last month with a warning that queries will be flying all over the place should he not be on the final squad to Egypt.
His trickery will get the Flying Eagles dead ball opportunities in very dangerous positions and it is left for them to make the most of these.
Samson Lawal and substitute Segun Otusanya each grabbed a brace against Barau Academy.
The Flying Eagles will play another test game tomorrow at the FIFA Goal Project in Abuja.
They are also billed to host fellow U20 AFCON qualifiers Zambia in two warm-up games later this month.
