Terem Moffi will be a Southampton player as early as this week, according to Skysports TV.
Skysports quoted one of various sources as it concerns this story as saying talks have reached advanced stage and Moffi will be a Premier League signing before the week runs out.
‘The Saints’ are bottom of the Premier League, but hope the goals of the FC Lorient star striker will lift them out of relegation trouble in no time.
The 23-year-old striker has so far fired 10 goals in the French Ligue 1 this season to further underline his consistency in front of goal.
Moffi has also in the process shot his way to the Super Eagles, who have an embarrassment of attacking talents.
He is a left-footed centre-forward, who besides his power and energy, can also play a bit after he started out as a midfielder.
The striker has not hidden his ambition to play in a bigger league and last season could have joined Villarreal CF in the Spanish La Liga, but his French club rejected a bid.
His transfer market value is put at around 15 Million Euros after he cost FC Lorient eight Million Euros from Belgian club KV Kortrijk, but Southampton may be forced to pay far and above that to get their man now.
He will likely be given a four-year deal.
