SCORENigeria can exclusively report that Premier League side Leeds United are hot on the heels of midfielder Alhassan Yusuf, who has been strutting his stuff at title-chasing Antwerp in Belgium this season.
Last summer, Leeds were also keen to sign the energetic midfielder before he eventually opted to join ambitious Belgian club Antwerp from Swedish club IFK Goteborg.
A top source told SCORENigeria: “There was interest from Leeds last summer and the same club could come again for Alhassan this coming summer.”
Leeds high intensity game will suit the Kano-born star, who has scored three goals in 24 league appearances thus far.
The 21-year-old player cost Antwerp a bargain 1.5 Million Euros.
Alhassan Yusuf has previously been courted by Wolves and Sheffield United.
Interestingly, the Leeds interest comes at a time Super Eagles coach Augustine Eguavoen said he is also monitoring Yusuf with the aim of calling him up.
A Belgian colleague has already confirmed to Eguavoen that the former FC Hearts star has the qualities of the box-to-box midfielder he so desperately wants for the Super Eagles.
