The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have approved the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja to host next month’s crucial World Cup playoff between the Super Eagles and Ghana.
The match is fixed for March 29 with the overall winners advancing to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The approval was conveyed in a memo dated February 3, 2022, addressed to the NFF General Secretary and signed by CAF development director, Raul Chipenda.
However, CAF also ordered that the pitch, floodlights and dressing room at the stadium must be brought up to the required standards before the second inspection visit.
The Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos, which has staged most of the Eagles home games recently, was banned by CAF for being below standard.
