Super Eagles defender Awaziem tests positive for Covid-19

Turkey-based defender Chidozie Awaziem has tested positive for Coronavirus, according to media reports.

The routine Covid test on Monday showed Awaziem was infected, Sporting Life reported.

The report further said he was the only positive test and so was not listed for the match against Egypt, which the Super Eagles won 1-0.

Awaziem has therefore been sidelined for Saturday’s second Group D match against Sudan.
