Caretaker coach Augustine Eguavoen has praised the work ethics of the Super Eagles, saying they have been very professional in training ahead of the AFCON in Cameroon.
The team trained for the first time in Cameroon Thursday evening for about an hour.
“We are very impressed. The pitch is good, the weather is good and the boys have responded very well. We are happy,” he said.
“I have interacted with the players, tried to make them understand why I want you to do it this way.
“I spoke to a couple of them in the aircraft coming here, I spoke to some in the morning and in the evening I will still speak to a few, before we have a collective session.
“So far, they are very pleased and their attitude towards the training has been awesome, real professionalism they have demonstrated.”
Eguavoen also admitted he is under pressure to deliver Nigeria a fourth AFCON title in Cameroon.
“It’s not going to be easy because every team here (in Cameroon) wants to prove a point),” he said.
The Eagles will open their campaign Tuesday evening against Egypt.
