The injury problems that the Super Eagles faced this month ahead of World Cup qualifiers against Central African Republic may persist after coach Gernot Rohr was in the stands to see Kevin Akpoguma go down injured in action for Bundesliga club Hoffenheim.
Akpoguma lasted only 27 minutes as Bayern Munich battered Hoffenheim 4-0 at home with Rohr watching in the stands.
The former Germany U20 captain has battled injury this season, which forced him to miss several games involving the Super Eagles earlier this year.
This latest injury update comes just after it was reported that another Super Eagles defender, Chidozie Awaziem, is out for at least two weeks following a muscle injury he suffered in training with his Turkish club.
Leon Balogun was also injured while featuring for Scottish champions Rangers in a UEFA Europa League clash Thursday.
It is also known that Leicester City star midfielder Wilfred Ndidi and Oghenekaro Etebo will again miss next month’s qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde no thanks to injuries that stopped them from the double-header against Central African Republic earlier this month.
