The leading scorer in the Swedish Allsvenskan Samuel Adegbenro has insisted that his club finishing in the Top-3 to qualify for Europe remains the main target.
Adegbenro, 25, is the leading scorer in the Swedish top league with 14 goals and two assists.
The forward has now said it will be great to finish as the top scorer in the league, but the priority remains qualification by IFK Norrkoping to finish in the Top-3 and that way play in a top European competition next season.
“Our goal is to qualify for Europe. We want to finish in the Top-3,” Adegbenro declared.
“It would be good to finish as top scorer, but I don’t put that in my head.”
It has been a complete change of fortune for Adegbenro after he struggled for game time at Norwegian club Rosenborg last season and he is now the toast of Sweden.
Norrkoping are now fourth in the standings with 39 points from 22 matches, two points behind Malmo, who are third on the table.
