Leicester City manager Brendon Rodgers has defended why he has consigned Kelechi Iheanacho mostly to the bench despite what the striker achieved last season.
Iheanacho enjoyed his most productive time in the Premier League last season when he netted 19 goals in all competitions.
The Leicester City manager maintained that whether the Super Eagles striker starts or comes from the bench, the important thing is that he always makes an impact.
Rodgers now said: “Whether he starts or whether he comes into a game, he can make an impact.
“What you’ve seen since he’s been here, you see his confidence improving all the time.”
In Iheanacho’s last 16 starts for ‘The Foxes’, he has netted 14 goals and made five assists.
And in that time, Leicester City won nine, drew three and lost four matches.
