Exciting youngster Akinkunmi Amoo has got everyone talking after a flying start to the new season in Sweden.
He has already crowned this start by winning his first major trophy in Europe – the Swedish FA Cup – after just a year in Sweden.
‘Akin’ has so far scored thrice in eight matches in the new campaign to prove his full integration to life in Sweden.
Last season, he made six appearances in the league all as a substitute.
Such is the form of this 19-year-old forward, who is blessed with electrifying pace and superb technique, that he is now in the radar of some of Europe’s top clubs – Atletico Madrid, Valencia, Leicester City, Club Brugge.
His club Hammarby IF, who scouted him when he featured for the Golden Eaglets two years ago, hope to make a handsome profit when they eventually sell him.
They have reportedly rejected a four Million Euros bid from Belgian champions Club Brugge as this is about two Million Euros short of their own valuation of the player.
The player himself has doused transfer speculations surrounding him.
“Of course, but I do not listen (to the speculations). I am in Hammarby and have my focus here where I have a long contract,” he told fotbolldirekt.se
Hammarby sports director Jesper Jansson has insisted they are not in a hurry to sell their jewel.
“We know he’s a diamond, but we have ambitions to keep him,” he offered.
“If there is an offer, it is as usual, but we bring in players so that they can perform and develop in Hammarby.”
