Odion Ighalo’s experience and professionalism can only make Victor Osimhen and Kelechi Iheanacho better strikers for the Super Eagles, according to coach Gernot Rohr.
Ighalo has been mulling a comeback to international football after his decision to quit soon after he was crowned Goal King at the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
Rohr has said he will welcome Ighalo back with open arms because he can only be good for his team.
“And if, for example, Odion Ighalo will play with us- I don’t know if it’s possible for the moment, but perhaps if he’s coming back, I think players like Osimhen and even Kelechi Iheanacho could have a big help in the presence of Ighalo to learn, to progress, to see his professionalism,” he told Elegbete TV
“He’s a great professional, a big example for everybody, and he’s also a great goal scorer.
“We are very young, especially in the attack, and it could be good to have some more experience with us.”
Nigeria have qualified for the AFCON to be staged by Cameroon in January, while the 2022 World Cup qualifiers will gather momentum in June.
