Emmanuel Dennis loan move to the Bundesliga appears not to have worked the magic and now it appears FC Cologne are not likely to take up the option to buy him permanently.
With six rounds of matches to the end of the German Bundesliga, Cologne sunk ever deeper into relegation trouble after they lost 3-2 at home to fellow strugglers Mainz 05.
And to add salt to injury, Dennis was not even named on the match day squad.
Club Brugge had hoped they could offload their Nigeria super brat in Germany, but that does not now appear to be on the cards.
The Cologne coach at a time complained about the winger’s negative body language and his numbers in the Bundesliga have been far from impressive – no goals in eight league appearances.
Dennis still has a year left of his contract with Club Brugge and it is becoming increasingly likely he will head back to Belgium after Cologne would have been relegated to the lower division.
Club Brugge hope to cash big time on a player they once valued at around 25 million Euros now appears to have gone all up in a huge smoke…
