SCORENigeria lists the Top 5 Golden Eaglets players who flew the highest as Nigeria finished third at the WAFU B U17 AFCON in Ghana.
5.Rapha Adams
Young striker from the Nigeria U16s who netted twice at this competition including the all-important winner against hard-fighting Niger. He always put his body on the line and that way took a lot of physical punishment from defenders. He certainly has a bright future as he will grow bigger and develop more football wise.
4.Sylvester Chika
The tall rightback was one of the players SCORENigeria tipped to shine at this tournament and he went on to deliver. He is good when attacking and defending even though he is probably too tall for a fullback.
3.Destiny Samuel
A lively defensive midfielder who linked the midfield to the attack with ease. He was effective, played simple to get the job done. Another youngster to look out for in the nearest future.
2.Simon Cletus
The Golden Eaglets captain was always one to watch out for as SCORENigeria first predicted and he did not disappoint. The attacking midfielder scooped the Man of the Match for the Eaglets first two group games against Burkina Faso and Niger. He is creative, but needs to add steel and better marking ability to go on to be top-class.
1.Abdulmuiz Adeleke
He was wasteful at the start of this qualifying series, but grew into the competition as the stakes got higher. A left-footed centre-forward, good on the ball and will only develop more physically. He finished as the team’s top scorer with four goals including the all-important winner against hosts Ghana to give Nigeria hope they could still make it to the U17 AFCON next year.
