Coach Gernot Rohr has raised serious concerns over Benin lack of discipline ahead of their crucial 2026 World Cup qualifier in Uyo against the Super Eagles.
Benin risk at least nine players to be suspended for their October 14 clash against Nigeria should any of them be booked in Friday’s clash in Rwanda.
The players are Sessi d’Almeida, Yohan Roche, Jodel Dossou, Rodrigue Kossi, Mohamed Tijani, Samadou Attidjikou, Imourane Hassane, Junior Olaitan and Cédric Hountondji.
It is a situation that has caused Rohr to now read out the riot act to his team who lead the World Cup qualifying group.
“If a player is suspended for a protest or a bad-tempered gesture, he will face a fine,” he warned.
“Above all, we are very strict. We don’t want to be affected by this kind of lack of discipline.”
