The ceremony for the 2025 CAF Awards will be staged tonight in Rabat, Morocco, with captain Rasheedat Ajibade, the Super Falcons as well as coach Justine Madugu widely tipped to win top awards.
Ajibade was named the MVP of the delayed 2024 WAFCON as the Super Falcons staged a remarkable comeback in the final against hosts Morocco to win a record-extending tenth continental crown.
PSG forward Ajibade is up against the Moroccan pair of Ghizlane Chebbak and Sanaa Mssoudy, while Super Falcons No 1 Chiamaka Nnadozie is also expected to win the Goalkeeper of the Year award for the third straight year.
Madugu was named best coach of the 2024 WAFCON to be the favourite for the Women’s Coach of the Year.
Victor Osimhen, who won the CAF Player of the Year for 2023, has made the top-3 shortlist.
However, home boy and PSG Achraf Hakimi is expected to scoop the top prize ahead of Egypt and Liverpool Mohamed Salah and Osimhen.
It will be the first time a defender will win the award since 1992.
