As the Super Eagles of Nigeria face the Mambas of Mozambique in the AFCON 2025 Round of 16 in Fes, Morocco, tonight, we expect nothing but fire works from both sides.
Going by records and pedigree, the Super Eagles are light years ahead of Mozambique, but all these don’t matter any more in modern football.
What matters most is current form, a combination of determination, resilience, tenacity of purpose, courage ,class and patriotism.
All these I bet the Super Eagles have in abundant supply.
On the road to the Round of 16, the Super Eagles in topping their group made no pretense about their determination to make a remarkable mark at 2025 AFCON.
Their collective and individual brilliance have so far brought smiles on the faces of their appreciative fans and supporters who keep urging them to do more until the trophy is won.
Who would not be pleased by the power -packed lethal shots of Ademola Lookman whose shots at goal are now becoming “weapons of mass destruction” ravaging opponents’ defense systems?
Talk about mercurial Victor Osimhen and his goalmouth back-breaking headers together with his pulsating speed that gets defenders gasping for breath.
Show me Alex Iwobi and you for sure will be talking about those calculated, precision and measured midfield pull outs which if properly utilized as they most often are, get opponents’ defence line rattled.
I also believe that match-winning new captain Wilfred Ndidi will be unwilling to let go the winning spectacle that has been his lot since he started wearing the Super Eagles captain arm band in this AFCON.
Our attack is potent ,the midfield is fluid, the defence is rock solid ,the icing on the cake will be good team work, top fighting spirit, display of individual and collective brilliance and above all prayers from the moving spirit of a nation solidly behind her gallant heroes.
UP SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA.
