A top NFF official has expressed “total” confidence a formal protest by Nigeria will see Guinea thrown out of the race for a ticket to the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Guinea outscored their Nigerian counterparts 2-0 on aggregate to qualify for the U23 AFCON, which will also serve as a qualifier for next year’s Olympics football event in Paris, France.
The NFF international department has since tabled a protest against Guinea to CAF.
“The evidence that (Fode) Camara is not eligible is overwhelming and that is why we are confident Guinea will be disqualified and Nigeria will be reinstated in the competition,” the top official told SCORENigeria
“It may not be the best way to qualify for a tournament, but Guinea cheated, they did not play to the rules and so cannot go unpunished.”
The 2023 U23 AFCON will be hosted by Morocco in November.
If eventually Nigeria is reinstated, our Coach is simply not qualify to lead Nigeria to the promised land.
