Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has predicted a tough and highly competitive 2023 AFCON because all 24 finalists are driven for glory.
The 63-year-old Portuguese coach will be making his AFCON debut and has promised the country a fourth AFCON crown.
“I expect a strong and difficult competition in the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations and the teams are all distinguished and want to win the competition,” he told Koraplus
He also picked record AFCON winners Egypt as one of the favourites for the trophy at stake in Cote d’Ivoire.
“There are many strong teams that are candidates to win the Africa Cup such as the Egyptian national team, who are the best on the continent,” he remarked.
“I believe they are a candidate to win the competition.”
Nigeria will open training camp in Dubai tomorrow.
They begin their AFCON campaign on January 14 against Equatorial Guinea in Abidjan.
