The Super Eagles have moved a massive 12 places up and are now 33rd in the world on the back of reaching the semifinals of the 2019 AFCON in Egypt.
The Eagles lost 2-1 to eventual champions Algeria in the semifinal of the AFCON.
Nigeria are joined by surprise quarter-finalists Madagascar (96th, up 12) and Benin (82nd, up 6) in seeing their continental performances rewarded with a rise in the ranking.
African champions Algeria (40th, up 28) are the biggest movers in the July edition by ranks and points (up 117), while fellow finalists Senegal (20th, up 2) have not made a huge leap, but reached their best-ever ranking position.
The next rankings will be released on September 19.
