Napoli now want to go ahead and sign Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea even without sealing a deal for Victor Osimhen to leave.
According to Top Transfer Expert Gianluca Di Marzio, Napoli continue to shop for a new centre-forward for next season.
He said contacts between the Italian club and Chelsea for Lukaku have continued.
However, the Premier League club want 35 Million Euros for the Belgium striker, which Napoli consider as too high.
He further said Napoli have now not ruled out the plan to conclude the deal to sign Lukaku before a solution is found for Osimhen.
It has been reported that Napoli coach Antonio is becoming increasingly uncomfortable he still does not have his preferred striker in place ahead of the new season.
Osimhen has continued to train fully with his club, but he has not featured in any pre-season friendly and it is now left to be seen whether he will be involved in Napoli’s first official game of the new season, a Coppa Italia tie against Modena Saturday.
