The Super Falcons will now most likely face a difficult first round group at next year’s World Cup after a disastrous 2022 WAFCON in Morocco caused them to fall seven spots in the latest FIFA Rankings.

The nine-time African champions are now 46th best team in the world after they rated 39th the previous month.

Teams for the 2023 World Cup in July in Australia and New Zealand will be seeded according to the FIFA Rankings.

The Super Falcons failed to defend their continental crown in Morocco after they could only finish a poor fourth at the WAFCON.

Zambia, who finished third in Morocco ahead of Nigeria, enjoyed the biggest jump in the Ranking as they are now 80th in the world from 103rd.

Newly crowned WAFCON champions South Africa are now 54th in the world and second in Africa.

USA women’s team lead the Rankings, while new European champions England have climbed four places up to fourth.
