The Super Eagles welcome Bafana Bafana to Uyo on June 7 in a third round World Cup qualifying match.
They are third in Group C with two points from as many matches, while main rivals South Africa are second with three points.
“The game against South Africa is the game of our lives,” declared Ikpeba, CAF African Footballer of the Year for 1997.
“Finidi (George) has the players having only recently reached the final of the AFCON, which was one of the toughest ever.
“The boys know what is at stake.
“They have to be focused and make the necessary sacrifices to ensure they beat South Africa.
“It won’t be easy, but it can be done.”
The upcoming clash between Nigeria and South Africa comes four months after a dramatic penalty shootout involving both countries in the semifinal of the 2023 AFCON.
The Super Eagles won the shootout to advance to the final of the AFCON.
