Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has disclosed No 1 goalkeeper Maduka Okoye will start from the bench for today’s World Cup qualifier against Central African Republic after he missed his flight from his base and so hit training camp late.
Rohr said Okoye was “unprofessional” for missing his flight.
The Sparta Rotterdam shot stopper could therefore only feature in only one training session with the Eagles due to his late arrival
Okoye has been in goal for all six matches played by the Super Eagles this year.
The battle for the No 1 jersey for today’s game will now therefore be between Cyprus-based Francis Uzoho and Kaizer Chiefs shot stopper Daniel Akpeyi.
