Super Eagles forward Saviour Godwin said that in the absence of Nigeria at Qatar 2022, he has switched his support to the Teranga Lions of Senegal and Portugal.
The Casa Pia star, who scooped the MVP Award in the Portuguese top league for the months of August and September, said he will rooting for African champions Senegal to go all the way in Qatar.
“I like Portugal and I think it is the team that will win (the tournament). I also support Senegal,” he said.
Tonight, England will stand between Senegal and a place in the quarterfinal.
The Teranga Lions were the second African team to reach the last-eight of the World Cup in 2002 after Cameroon hit such milestone in 1990.
