Nasarawa United striker Sunusi Ibrahim will lead Nigeria’s attack in this afternoon’s all-important U23 AFCON playoff against Sudan in Asaba, as SCORENigeria first reported.
He will play in a two-man attack alongside Taiwo Awoniyi, who started the game in Sudan.
Ibrahim has been rewarded for his lively showing in Sudan when he came on as a late sub.
The other additions to the starting XI are Kelechi Nwakali, who will play in midfield alongside skipper Okechukwu Azubuike and Ndifreke Effiong, and Norway-based defender Anthony Jude Uzochukwu, who will play in the heart of defence with the impressive Olisa Ndah.
Nigeria need to overturn a 1-0 loss in Sudan last week to keep alive their hopes of featuring at next year’s Olympics in Tokyo.
