South Africa coach Hugo Broos has said the winners of the ticket to the 2026 World Cup from Group C will most likely be decided on the final day of qualifying action because it is a tricky pool.
Lesotho are the new leaders of the group after they outscored Zimbabwe Friday, Rwanda second on four points ahead of Benin by virtue of better goals difference.
South Africa are fourth with four points, Nigeria are fifth having recorded three points with Zimbabwe bottom on two points.
“This group will be decided on the final day, it will be tough till the last game,” Broos predicted.
“This group is very tricky that after three games the results have been unbelievable with Lesotho on top.
“The little teams in Africa have progressed a lot, like we all saw at the AFCON, every team can take points from the other.”
