This made up for missing out on the 2023 AFCON in February on account of injury.
In the season under review, Ndidi was a major tool in Enzo Maresca’s Leicester set-up, playing in a more advanced role compared to his preferred defensive midfield role.
As a result of this, Ndidi scored six times and assisted six making 12 goal contributions across 2,353 games.
This was his most prolific season since he moved to Europe in 2015.
He made 836 passes in total, 689 successful, with an accuracy of 82.42% and 30 being key passes.
Also, Wilfred attempted 35, completing 14 with a cross success rate of 40%.
Ndidi attempted four shots, ensuring three were on target without hitting the woodwork at all. He also had a conversion rate and an accuracy of 75%.
Defensively, he was also solid, as Leicester only conceded 16 goals across the 2,141 minutes he played, with 109 minutes per goal conceded.
He also recorded 11 clean sheets, 37 interceptions and 15 tackles.
In terms of aerial and ground duels, Ndidi won 13 and 108 respectively and has only been dribbled past eight times, making 28 clearances
Arguably one of Leicester’s most important players, he was ranked 51st out of 564 players in the English Championship, with an average rating of 7.08.
One of the most important players for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, Ndidi also made his return to the squad for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
As the most senior international on the squad, he captained the Super Eagles to a 1-1 draw in Uyo, before losing 2-1 to Benin in Abidjan to leave Nigerian’s qualification chances floundering.
