Even at the ripe old age of 35 later this month, Odion Ighalo has continued to bang in the goals at the highest level in Saudi Arabia.

He did so in his debut season with Al Shabab, when he scored nine goals in the second round of the campaign, before he took his shooting boots to local rivals Al Hilal, where he was crowned Goal King of the league with 24 goals in the 2021/2022 season.
The former Manchester United striker has now carried on at modest Al-Wehda, who are based in the holy city of Mecca.
His goals ensured his club finished 13th and safe from any relegation worries.
Ighalo, the mainstay in the Wehda attack, netted 15 goals this season in 2,905 minutes across 34 appearances.
He has had a goals’ per game average of 0.51 goals per game and 176 minutes per goal.
In regards to penalties taken in the season, Ighalo had a 100% record ,netting all five he played and missing none.
The tally included two hat-tricks against Al Khaleej and Damac in November and September, respectively.
In the Saudi Pro League, Ighalo had 31 appearances- meaning he only missed three games – and his stellar performance makes him joint seventh-top scorer in the league and the highest goal scorer for Al-Wehda in all competitions.
Ighalo, already retired from international football with the Super Eagles, was also placed 19th out of 391 players who had at least three appearances in the league.
