Former Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr could well have a surprise in store for the Super Eagles when his Benin do battle against them in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.
The Cheetahs of Benin will welcome the Super Eagles to the Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on June 10.
Rohr has listed Steve Mounie and Switzerland-based Aiyekun Tosin on his squad for this crucial match.
French Ligue 1 club Brest will feature in the UEFA Europa League next season thanks to the six goals and an assist of record signing Mounie, who is 29.
He is the captain of the national team.
Andreas Hountondji, a physically imposing striker with French club Rodez, and Angers defender Cedric Hountondji have also caught the eye this outgoing season in Europe.
The squad also include the vastly experienced goalkeeper Saturnin Allagbe.
Like the Super Eagles, Benin are yet to win in the World Cup qualifiers and are bottom of the standings on a solitary point.
