Gernot Rohr has said top stars Victor Osimhen, Wilfred Ndidi and Kenneth Omeruo will be fit and ready for next month’s 2021 AFCON double header against Sierra Leone.
At the weekend, Osimhen copped a thigh injury in action for Ligue 1 club Lille, CD Leganes defender Omeruo was involved in a collision, which forced him out of a La Liga clash, while Ndidi suffered a relapse of a knee injury that needed surgery.
“Osimhen will soon be okay, Ndidi is resting well and will be fit soon, while Omeruo has only a knock on the head,” Rohr said.
“I am confident our injured players will come back soon.”
However, goalkeeper Francis Uzoho remains a long-term injury doubt, while Moses Simon is waiting on a scan done this week to determine how long he will be on the treatment table.
The Super Eagles are top of their qualifying group for Cameroon 2021 with six points from two matches.
They will host Sierra Leone on March 23 with the reverse tie in Freetown a week later.
Benin and Lesotho are the other teams in the group.
