One-time CAF Player of the Year Victor Ikpeba ‘The Prince of Monaco’ is in Uyo to give new Super Eagles coach Finidi George total support ahead of tomorrow’s important 2026 World Cup qualifier against South Africa.
Both Ikpeba and Finidi featured for the Super Eagles ‘Golden Generation’ in the 90s.
“The games against South Africa and Benin are very important for Nigeria and so we must all come together to support Finidi and the team to win both games,” said Ikpeba, who is also a long-serving member of the NFF technical committee.
“Unfortunately, we did not start well in the qualifiers after we drew our first two games.
“And this is also against the background that we were not at the last World Cup in Qatar.
“We as a nation cannot afford to miss out on the next World Cup.
“We have the quality to get the job done and we must do so.”
Tomorrow’s showdown will kick off 8pm at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
