Super Eagles coach Jose Peseiro has said he will happy to go past the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon 1-0 to reach the AFCON quarterfinal tonight.
“At least one goal, we’ll attack well and defend together, you do that and we win,” the Portuguese coach said at a pre-match press briefing.
“I have studied many of the matches between both teams… but tomorrow our objective is to win the match.”
Peseiro also stoutly defended the 3-4-3 formation he has employed at this AFCON, but which critics say is too defensive.
“The statistics say we are the team with the most goalscoring opportunities, and for that I cannot change my team or formation,” he said.
“I will try to stick with what I have been doing and hope our players start scoring more goals soon.”
Here we go again with the problems of withheld payments when the players are trying their best to do Nigeria proud. I hope they will sort out the payments with ease so as not to disrupt the campaign of the boys. We only have one chance to do the nation proud tonight. Good luck super Eagles, good luck Nigeria.
