Victor Osimhen could well be back in action as early as next week after scan results showed his right calf muscle was contracted and not ruptured.
Osimhen was ruled out of the Serie A clash against Salernitana Sunday after he was forced out of training the previous day.
Napoli announced today the scan result and further disclosed the striker has begun a treatment programme and will be re-assessed over the coming days.
However, it is left to be seen if his club would risk their leading scorer for Thursday’s UEFA Europa League clash Thursday.
It looks a lot more promising that he could now lead the Super Eagles attack in 2022 World Cup qualifiers against Liberia and Cape Verde from November 11.
Nigeria will be guests of Liberia in Morocco on November 11 with a final group qualifier against Cape Verde a couple of days later in Lagos.
