Former Super Eagles coach and captain Sunday Oliseh has picked two players, who he believes the country can build the national team around.
Oliseh played for the Super Eagles for 10 years with the last three years as captain of the team.
He will go on to coach the team as well.
“The best players are (Ademola) Lookman and Victor Boniface,” Oliseh revealed in a podcast on Elegbete TV.
“Victor Boniface is extraordinarily good, I watched him every week, he is good one-on-one, has pace, he’s strong and he carries the team.
“I am still optimistic about the Super Eagles, we could build the team around them.”
Oliseh further warned against Nigeria not qualifying for the 2026 World Cup, saying it will spell disaster for the country.
“We cannot afford not to go to two World Cups, it will be a disaster,” he said.
“The next World Cup will be the biggest ever and countries who qualify will benefit.
“If we don’t qualify, we will suffer directly and indirectly.”
